On Monday, 28 September 2026, Steklarna Hrastnik, a member of Vaider Group, welcomed a delegation from WaterstofNet, one of the key organisations supporting the development of the hydrogen ecosystem in Flanders and the southern Netherlands and connecting industry, research institutions, and the public sector in the field of hydrogen technologies.
The visit was organised in cooperation with HSE as part of the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley (NAHV) project. It formed part of the Flemish delegation’s programme in Slovenia, focused on practical examples of hydrogen technologies and industrial decarbonisation. Representatives of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) Slovenia, as well as research and development institutions, also took part in the visit.
Our Innovation team presented Steklarna Hrastnik’s key development activities related to the decarbonisation of production. They introduced the company’s sustainability strategy, its work on hydrogen technologies, and its involvement in international research and development projects supporting the transition of energy-intensive industries towards a low-carbon future.
The programme continued with a tour of the production facilities, where the delegation was introduced to the glass production process, advanced technological solutions, and the approaches Steklarna Hrastnik is taking to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.
The solutions and development achievements presented during the visit generated strong interest among the delegation. The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the further development of hydrogen technologies and their application in energy-intensive industries.
The visit further strengthened cooperation between Slovenian and Flemish partners working on industrial decarbonisation and the development of the hydrogen economy.
