A Bottle for a Precious

For Terme Olimia, thermal water is much more than a part of the spa experience. Drawn from deep beneath the surrounding landscape, it is central to the resort’s identity and the experience it offers its guests.

Visitors enjoy the thermal water in the resort’s pools, but they are also encouraged to drink it. With its low mineral content, the water has an important place in Terme Olimia’s approach to well-being and its philosophy of selfness, which encourages guests to take time for themselves.

To give this natural resource the attention it deserves, Terme Olimia decided to develop an exclusive glass bottle, designed specifically for the resort.

Guests receive a freshly filled bottle of thermal water in their hotel rooms each day. The bottle is also available to purchase as a souvenir and forms part of the resort’s corporate and promotional gift collection.

Rather than choosing a standard bottle, Terme Olimia wanted a design that would reflect its identity, its architecture and the meaning of water within the resort.

Inspired by the Architecture

The bottle’s design takes its inspiration from the distinctive architecture of Terme Olimia, where triangular and rhomboid shapes feature prominently.

These geometric forms carry symbolic meaning. The triangular lines represent adventure and the desire to travel, encouraging guests to explore and take time for themselves. The rhomboid shapes symbolise inner focus and balance, reflecting the resort’s philosophy of selfness.

Terme Olimia selected Vaider Group (formerly HRASTNIK1860) for its extensive glass bottle collection, design capabilities and ability to provide development and manufacturing services in one place.

The possibility of working with a Slovenian glass manufacturer was another important factor in the decision.

Throughout the development process, the aim was to create a bottle that would be recognisably connected to Terme Olimia, rather than simply carrying its name or logo.

Architecture into Glass

The finished Olimia bottle features a faceted body inspired by the geometric lines of the resort’s architecture.

Its elongated hexagonal shape is defined by a series of triangular and rhomboid surfaces. Each facet catches and reflects light differently, creating an effect reminiscent of sunlight moving across water.

Beyond its appearance, the geometric body also provides a comfortable grip. The facets give the bottle definition without making it difficult to hold or use.

The bottle’s neck narrows gradually towards the opening, balancing the angular body with a softer profile and allowing for easy pouring.

Clear glass was selected to showcase the thermal water inside, while the interplay of light and reflections gives the bottle its characteristic appearance.

The result is a bespoke glass bottle that reflects both the architecture and the philosophy of Terme Olimia. Its geometric design carries the resort’s identity into guests’ hotel rooms and, for those who take the bottle home, beyond their stay.
