Bottle design

“When I came across the competition, I saw it as a fantastic opportunity. For any brand, having a bespoke bottle is crucial as it establishes a unique identity. It was a chance I couldn’t pass up!”

Fabricio Camarena, owner of Monkey Brands International

From Competition Winner

For Monkey Brands International, the company behind Frisky Panky spirits, winning the *Spirit in a Bottle* design competition was an opportunity to move beyond standard glass packaging.

Organised by Vaider Group (formerly HRASTNIK1860), the competition offered the winning brand the chance to develop its own spirits bottle with the support of the company’s Design Studio and glassmaking specialists.

The prize covered the development process, from initial design concepts and mould equipment to the first glass samples, with the associated costs covered by the organiser.

Until then, Frisky Panky had used a standard bottle. Although it served its purpose, the brand wanted packaging that would better reflect its identity and give the product a more recognisable appearance.

For Fabricio Camarena, owner of Monkey Brands International, the competition offered the opportunity to take that next step.

A Bottle That

The brief was to create a bespoke glass bottle that would retain elements of Frisky Panky’s existing packaging while introducing details specific to the brand.

The new design features a broad body with space for the label, custom embossed lettering and carefully shaped shoulders. The latter were inspired by the playful hairstyle featured in the brand’s artwork, creating a subtle connection between the bottle and its visual identity.

The embossed details also give the glass a character of its own, without competing with the colourful label.

For Camarena, moving from a standard bottle to a bespoke design was an important part of developing the brand. The new packaging needed to convey Frisky Panky’s personality while maintaining the practical qualities expected of a spirits bottle.

Bottle Design

The project began with an exploration of Frisky Panky’s brand identity, existing packaging and the visual elements the client wanted to retain.

Vaider Group’s Design Studio developed several proposals, refining the bottle’s proportions, shoulder shape and embossed details in consultation with the client.

One of the technical considerations was the positioning of the embossed lettering. Its placement and depth had to be compatible with the glass moulding process while preserving the intended appearance.

The final design retains a connection to Frisky Panky’s original bottle but introduces a shape and details developed specifically for the brand.

For Monkey Brands International, the project marked the transition from standard packaging to a bespoke glass bottle, developed through collaboration with Vaider Group’s design and manufacturing teams.
